2022 UK 50p Gold Proof Two Coin Set The Platinum Jubilee of Her Majesty The Queen, The Royal Mint, Great Britain

As Her Majesty The Queen makes history by becoming the first British monarch to mark a Platinum Jubilee, this two-coin set pays tribute to her remarkable reign, bringing together two UK 50p coins each bearing a distinctive portrait of Queen Elizabeth II.

Created by Jody Clark, The Queen’s fifth definitive coinage portrait has appeared on all UK coins that have entered circulation since 2015. For 2022, the experienced coinage artist John Bergdahl designed a Platinum Jubilee portrait in celebration of this special milestone in Queen Elizabeth II’s reign.

Struck in 22 carat gold and finished to Proof standard, a bold, typographic design by the design agency Osborne Ross appears on the reverse of both coins. Presented together in a case, a booklet exploring the definitive coinage portraits of Her Majesty’s reign accompanies the coins.
